Sidney Hinton, founded PowerSecure (NASDAQ: POWR) in 2000 and retired as President and CEO in November 2018. PowerSecure’s focus is Distributed Generation, Utility Infrastructure and Energy Efficiency. PowerSecure brings an enormous depth of expertise (switchgear design, interconnection design, electrical engineering, financial engineering, environmental permitting, utility rate design, etc.) to their utility partners and customers.
Sidney received a BBA (Accounting) from Georgia State University (1986) and a MBA from Emory University (1994).
For years Sidney struggled with the question of whether or not he was being called to leave the business world and become an occupational minister. Sidney finally realized that the Lord had indeed called him to be a full time minister (just as He has called you) but that the calling was in the context of the life that the Lord had equipped Sidney to serve in. The Other Six Days was founded by Sidney as a result of this realization with the goal being to help fellow brothers and sisters in Christ realize the peace and fulfillment of finding this same calling.
Sidney is married and has four adult children. (Wife – Mahi; Children – Jonathan, Holly, Jordan and Haley)
